In this McCoy & Van Noy episode, both Gerald McCoy and Kyle Van Noy discuss their favorite moments from week 3 of the NFL season with McCoy sharing six moments and Van Noy two. They begin by discussing the two matches that were played on Monday night.
First, they talk about what makes Trevor Lawrence different from Josh Allen, who seems to be the best quarterback in football right now. The two guys, Gerald and Kyle, both have ideas about why Josh Allen seems to have a lot more control now than he did more recently.
The Commanders surprised everyone by beating the Bengals on Monday, and Jayden Daniels made the league take notice with a nearly perfect game.
Gerald and Kyle also talk about how “soft” football has become, how analytics play a part, and how the game has changed in a basic way.
They then talk about how Antonio Pierce, the head coach of the Las Vegas Raiders, scolded his team after they lost to the Carolina Panthers. That some guys were making “business decisions”—what did he mean? And as a player, would that kind of feedback bother you?
The guys then talk about the “Drive to Win” players from week 3 and play a game of “Can it last?” with some surprising teams at the top of their divisions. Finally, they go over all of the games in week 4 and make their picks.
