London’s Roundhouse will host a December 5 tribute to Mark Lanegan. Queens of the Stone Age’s Josh Homme, Depeche Mode’s Dave Gahan, Chrissie Hynde, and Afghan Whigs’ Greg Dulli will perform at the performance.
“Mark Lanegan 60 – A Celebration,” will be held 10 days after the singer-songwriter’s 60th birthday (November 25th). The former Screaming Trees frontman died at 57 on February 22, 2022.
Troy Van Leeuwen, Bobby Gillespie, Alison Mosshart, and Duke Garwood will also perform. Soulsavers will be the house band.
This extraordinary homage honours Lanegan’s legacy as one of the most revered voices in modern music, with significant collaborators and close friends performing his songs and sharing his life stories, according to the Roundhouse website. His final London performance was at the Roundhouse, making it poignant. Do not miss this once-in-a-lifetime celebration of his life and music.”
Several bill acts worked with Lanegan. Previously, Lanegan was a Queens of the Stone Age member. He formed the Gutter Twins with Dulli, who said, “What a wonderful night this will be” in a news statement. Singing his songs and sharing anecdotes of our good friend in a well-deserved lifetime and music celebration.”
Homme may return to the stage after an undisclosed medical problem led QOTSA to postpone their autumn tour until 2025.
Tickets for the concert go on sale here at 10 a.m. London time on October 1.
