Missouri Governor Mike Parson said, “Missouri’s roots run deep in the fields where crops like corn, soybeans, rice, and peanuts are grown, and one of the best symbols of our Missouri roots is George Washington Carver. George Washington Carver was a trailblazer in agricultural science, and his work was hugely influential in the development of the agricultural industry, here in Missouri and across the nation. We proudly call him a son of Missouri and feature him on Missouri’s American Innovation $1 coin.”
