Selena Gomez made a grand entrance at the season four premiere of Hulu’s show “Only Murders in the Building” on Thursday night. The event took place on the historic Paramount Pictures lot in Los Angeles, where Gomez reunited with her co-stars Martin Short, Steve Martin, and Meryl Streep. Gomez, who plays true crime podcaster Mabel Mora in the series, wore a black Self-Portrait dress adorned with dazzling pearl and lace details, and her style was quite glamorous.
Gomez completed her look with crystal-covered heels and a pretty bun, pairing it with smoky eye makeup and nude lipstick from her Rare Beauty brand. Despite the grand event, her boyfriend, music producer Benny Blanco, was not present at the event. This absence comes after recent engagement rumors sparked by Gomez’s social media activities.

1. No weighing of any kind
“I’ve never felt the need to weigh her,” Amy said. “I don’t believe in weighing — I think it’s not healthy.” But, because she and Selena work so closely, Amy knows when Selena’s body changes or her clothes fit differently. “I can see the difference, and other people can, too,” she said. “But at the end of the day, a body that eats well and functions well will look better because it’s healthier.”
2. No dieting of any kind
There’s nothing restrictive about food — though that doesn’t mean Amy doesn’t encourage better choices — just less quantity. “I wish I could live my life like a Frenchman,” Amy said. “I don’t believe in depriving yourself of anything, but I also believe in balance. Life is too short, it’s important to enjoy food.”
3. Switch from fast food to healthy food
Selena proudly says she eats like a Texas. “She loves Tex-Mex and fast food which I don’t normally encourage,” Amy said. “I get on the tour bus and smell fast food, throw it in the trash and give her carrots and hummus.” Selena’s change in eating habits has helped her body shape up tremendously. “She responds quickly. We do little ab exercises and two days later, I’m thinking, ‘Wow!'”
Amy has incorporated more healthy and organic ingredients into Selena’s diet. Here’s what Selena might eat in a day:
- Breakfast: Half a healthy breakfast burrito consisting of scrambled eggs, chorizo, avocado, rice, and beans; or full-fat Greek yogurt and granola.
- Lunch: A “power salad” of turkey, avocado, and beans with a homemade dressing made with red wine vinegar, olive oil, Dijon mustard, and lemon juice.
- Dinner: Teriyaki bowl with Asian-marinated cucumbers, salmon or chicken, avocado, and teriyaki sauce over rice; or sushi.
Selena also has a juicer in her dressing room so she can juice before going on stage. Amy has started mixing cucumbers, carrots, kale, and ginger into juices. Even though Selena doesn’t like that much, it’s what’s keeping her going right now.
4. Exercise
Never let her body get bored. Selena keeps up with cardio, Pilates, and different types of yoga.
She and Amy go on long hikes with the Selena crew, where they do circuit training and exercises like “arm dancing” and “side chases.” “I’ve always believed that the best way to keep muscles active is to change things up. We change things up almost every day,” Amy said.
5. Stretching
Stretch a lot. Amy explains the importance of keeping the body flexible and says that being flexible helps Selena “let go.” Sometimes, Selena even does stretching and vocal warmup sessions.
6. Drink Water
Water, water, and water. “I’m a big proponent of drinking water,” Amy said. “Always. I always put a water bottle in someone’s hand.” It’s clearly working. Selena told Vogue that “I always have water with me, lots of water. I even have it in my bathroom because I was really bad at drinking water and I want to stay hydrated.”
7. Work out a sweat
Amy introduced Selena to Shape House, an “urban sweat lodge” where clients lie in an “infrared burrito” for 55 minutes and watch their skin “really glow.” According to the Shape House website, a “typical sweat session” burns 800 to 1,600 calories. Selena loves the process of infrared sweating so much that she has a sweat bag for the road.
8. Maintain a healthy body image
“When you feel good, you’re confident, and you feel strong and healthy,” Amy said. “You wear it well inside and out.”
9. Nourish the body and soul
While they were in Northern California, Amy sought out great hiking spots, and it’s a practice she plans to continue throughout the tour. “We try to find beautiful things in every city that make it special,” she said. “You spend a lot of time in a hotel, or on a bus or at shows, so it’s nice to go out in nature where there’s no technology and no people.” After a two-hour hike outside of Sacramento, they stopped at a waterfall and spent a few minutes standing there, enjoying the view and breathing of the water. “It was the perfect combination of mindset, body, and spirit,” Amy said. “Health, fitness, food — all are important. What we put in our mouths and into our souls affects everything.”
