The queen of country reflects on Beyonce's lack of nominations at the 2024 Country Music Association Awards, despite her record-breaking album "Cowboy Carter".
Variety asked Dolly Parton about Queen Bey's exclusion from this year's awards, one of the country music industry's most coveted.
Parton said: "Never know. There are so many great country performers that the industry undoubtedly decided, "We can't leave out some of the ones who spend their whole life doing that."
Only until someone questioned me did I realise that. The album was great. She should be proud, and I think everyone in country music liked her.
So I don't think it was intentional shutting out. The country charts and musicians do that all the time, not just a speciality album."
Parton's comments prompted social media users to note that Post Malone's first country album, "F-1 Trillion," garnered four nominations.
He received single, song, musical event, and music video of the year nominations.
