The Cure may have announced the release date of their first LP in 16 years in fan postcards.
When the group updated social media profile photographs this week, rumors circulated about an announcement.
Band fans have received mysterious postcards confirming the album title (Songs of a Lost World) and release date.
The cards' bottoms have Roman numerals for Nov. 1, 2024. Check the posts below.
The Cure's 2008 album 4:13 Dream peaked at No. 16 on the Billboard 200. The band is busy when the postcards arrive.
The release's revenues will benefit Brian Eno's climate advocacy foundation Earth Percent.
Robert Smith has often referenced the LP in interviews. He criticized himself for delays in a 2019 Los Angeles Times interview.
I keep redoing them, which is silly. Eventually, I must say goodbye. It's pretty black," Smith said.
